El Paso had a treat from electro funk legends Chromeo and synthwave masters The Midnight, with them was Ruth Radelet, best known for her work with electronic band Chromatics. Each band brought their version of music to the Lowbrow Palace for a great night outside watching the lunar eclipse and listening to some great tunes.
Ruth Radelet
Ruth Radelet, is an American singer, songwriter for the band Chromatics, after they disbanded in 2021, Radelet went on with her solo career, releasing her first solo album, “The Other Side” released in 2022. Her dream pop style is relaxing and soothing, while entertaining you. Her influences in the music business includes artist like Bob Dylan. Kris Kristofferson, and Tom Waits.
Her soft angelic voice captures your heart and you begin to sway with the music, Bring us songs from her past and present. After she performed, I had a chance to talk with her, she is the sweetest and caring person, making sure that her fans know she cares about them. I was honored to be asked to use her friend’s phone to take a picture of the two of them in the club. I am ordering her album as soon as I get paid.

The Midnight
The Midnight, an American Synthwave band consisting of Songwriter Tyler Lyle and Producer and Songwriter Tim McEwan, including their travel band members Royce Whittaker guitarist, synths, guitarist, bassist Leila Broussard, saxophonist, synths Justin Klunk, and drummer, Kwesi Robinson.
With five studio albums and on live album the band found a way to even perform during the pandemic by producing remix competition called Remix Radio, providing the stems of multiple songs they had produced on their website for free. On April 3, 2020, the livestream premiered on YouTube for one hour and thirty minutes.
Tim McEwan is not traveling with the band currently he is in the studio producing new music for the band while they finish their current tour, which only means there is more to come for The Midnight, I am sure after this tour they will be hiding in a studio for the winter producing a new Album for 2025.

Chromeo
Chromeo is a Canadian based band that has been performing since 2002. David “Dave 1” Macklovitch and Patrick “P-Thugg” Gemayel bring a unique blend of Soul, Dance, Synthpop and Disco with a funk downbeat that keeps their songs going even after the music stops.
Six studio albums under their belt, three of them hit the billboard 200 charts, and helps them give nominated for a Grammy, for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for their album, “Head over Heels”released in 2018.
Becoming friends in the mid 90’s both were in their teens, the partnership grew to the point in 2004 they had become Chromeo and released their debut album, “She’s in Control” approximately every three years after that they have released a new album. Two songs “Needy Girl” and “Your So Gangsta” became played around the world, and “Your So Gangsta” was used in the PC game, Space Colony. From that point on they have been nominated and won multiple awards in the music business.
With Macklovitch on guitar, synth and vocals and Gemayel on synth and talk box and bass guitar, they have a unique club sound that takes you back to the 80’s with strobes and disco balls with a great hip hop mix that just makes their music electricity the audiences.
