Daisy Grenade drops new single “How To Hide A Body” ahead of performance at When We Were Young Festival

Daisy Grenade, the rising stars of the power punk and bubble grunge scene have just unveiled their latest single, “How To Hide A Body.” Produced by renowned hitmaker Courtney Ballard (5 Seconds of Summer, All Time Low, The Used), the track blends razor-sharp wit with dark humor, creating a cheeky anthem about revenge on a well-deserving ex. This gritty, gleefully macabre single is the first taste of what’s to come as Daisy Grenade continues to rise in the pop punk scene.

According to lead vocalist Dani Nigro, “‘How To Hide A Body’ is about the fantasy of finally getting your abuser back,” while co-vocalist Keaton Whittaker emphasizes the playful tone, “But in a sparkly, campy horror movie way.” The track is accompanied by a vibrant music video, directed by frequent collaborators Jamie Rice and Hannah Klein, which matches the song’s theatrical, tongue-in-cheek approach to vengeance.

Daisy Grenade will perform an energetic live set at When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas this weekend, taking the stage on October 19 and 20. Following that, the band will embark on a tour supporting pop punk favorites State Champs, kicking off November 8 at Emo’s Austin. The month-long tour will take the band across North America, including stops in Phoenix, Seattle, Detroit, Toronto, and more, culminating in two shows at New York City’s iconic Webster Hall on December 7 and 8.

Daisy Grenade’s latest release is a perfect blend of their signature sound: biting, humor-laced lyrics set to infectiously catchy punk-pop melodies. Produced by Courtney Ballard, the song is a glossy and punchy nod to revenge fantasy, packing the punch of bubblegum pop with the edge of punk rebellion. Fans of Daisy Grenade will immediately recognize the duo’s fierce feminist stance, mixing the cathartic release of anger with the theatrical flair has become their trademark.

The duo, comprised of Dani Nigro and Keaton Whittaker, have been turning heads in the pop punk scene with their unique fusion of bubble grunge and power punk. Combining gritty, unfiltered lyrics with high-energy performances, Daisy Grenade’s music reflects the complexities of modern femininity—fierce, funny, and unapologetic. Their ability to confront dark, real-world themes like abuse and empowerment through a playful, campy lens has earned them a devoted following.

With theatrical roots, Nigro and Whittaker bring an extra layer of storytelling to their music, both sonically and visually. Mentored by Pete Wentz and signed to Public Consumption/DCD2 Records, Daisy Grenade has consistently pushed the boundaries of pop punk, earning praise from major outlets like Atwood Magazine and Alternative Press. Their extended sophomore EP, Cult Classic, re-released in 2023, cemented their place as one of the genre’s most exciting acts to watch.

As their star continues to rise, Daisy Grenade is set to take their explosive energy on the road with State Champs this fall. The tour, which spans over a dozen cities across the U.S. and Canada, promises to introduce Daisy Grenade’s fiery brand of punk to new audiences. With their latest single “How To Hide A Body” providing a preview of their evolving sound, fans can expect more high-octane performances and hard-hitting tracks from the duo in the coming months.
