The countdown to one of the world’s most iconic extreme metal festivals has begun! Inferno Festival Norway 2025 is set to take place from April 17-20, once again transforming Oslo into the global epicenter of black metal mayhem. This year’s lineup promises a mix of legendary names and rising stars, headlined by none other than Abbath Doom Occulta, who will deliver a special set revisiting his groundbreaking work with his former band.
In addition to Abbath, the lineup includes heavyweights like Behemoth, Satyricon, 1349, and Rotting Christ, among many others. New additions like Cadaver, Kirkebrann, and Vingulmork further strengthen this already impressive roster. With over 50 bands confirmed so far and more announcements on the way, fans can expect another immersive, boundary-pushing musical experience.
The Black Metal Bus: A Tour Through History
Beyond the music, the festival is offering an unique and chilling experience for die-hard fans: The Black Metal Bus Sightseeing Tour, led by black metal pioneer Anders Odden (Cadaver, Celtic Frost). This excursion takes participants through significant locations that shaped the early Norwegian black metal scene in the early ’90s. From the notorious Helvete record store to the chilling Langhus Station and Ski Cemetery, fans will hear personal stories from Odden, who lived through these defining moments of metal history.
Helvete, run by Mayhem’s Øystein Aarseth (Euronymous), was a ground zero for the Norwegian black metal explosion, and Odden’s firsthand accounts of this time offer a rare glimpse into the community that birthed genre-defining acts like Emperor, Darkthrone, and Burzum. The tour will culminate with a stop at Holmenkollen Chapel, a site of particular significance in the history of black metal’s dark and controversial past.

Festival Location & Amenities
The official festival hotel, Clarion Hotel® The Hub, once again plays hose to fans and industry professionals alike. The venue offers not only a prime location in Oslo’s city center, but a host of amenities that include an expansive breakfast buffet, access to a swimming pool, and a sauna—a much-needed reprieve for festival-goers. The Hub is just minutes away from festival venues like Rockefeller, John Dee, and other iconic rock bars, ensuring easy access to all the events.
For fans attending the Inferno Music Conference, which will take place prior to the festival, The Hub will serve as a gathering point for music industry professionals, artists, and media.
