October 18, 2024 – Rising star Lexa Gates has officially unveiled her long-awaited debut album, Elite Vessel, via GoodTalk. The album is a deeply personal, introspective body of work that captures Lexa’s evolution as an artist and individual. Combining raw honesty with powerful lyricism, Elite Vessel takes listeners on an emotional journey through themes of self-discovery, resilience, and ambition. Speaking about the album, Lexa shares, “Elite Vessel is more than just a title; it’s a manifestation of everything I’m striving to become. I am the vessel, and this album represents my journey toward everything I’ve ever dreamed of—it’s a surreal feeling.”
The 23-year-old Latinx artist, hailing from Queens, has quickly gained attention for her ability to blend R&B and rap, crafting songs that explore vulnerability and strength. Elite Vessel features 14 tracks, including collaborations with Billy Lemos on “I just Can’t Be Alone,” Alé Araya on “Lately, Nothing,” and Zelooperz on “Sweet.. Time.” From the ethereal opening track “Alone” to the fan-favorite “Stacy’s Chips,” the album showcases Lexa’s storytelling prowess and emotional depth. With production from Billy Lemos, Lexa’s soulful vocals, and the narrative complexity of tracks like “Provider,” the album offers a soundscape that is both refreshing and relatable.
In celebration of the album release, Lexa also dropped the highly anticipated video for her single “Stupid.” The visual, set in a surreal office world where Lexa launders money, challenges conventional narratives by juxtaposing themes of empowerment with vulnerability. Lexa’s chic office siren aesthetic is on full display as she navigates a world where she confidently reclaims her identity.
To coincide with the release of Elite Vessel, Lexa Gates is preparing to embark on her first-ever North American headline tour, “The Elite Vessel Tour,” starting on November 4 in Chicago. Fans across the U.S. will have the chance to experience Lexa’s captivating performances live as she travels to cities including Austin, San Francisco, Washington D.C., and ends the tour in her hometown of New York.
