On September 20th, 2024- Ruby Redden released her newest single “Junk Car” that made me laugh and at the same time realize that women deserve more respect in this world. “Junk Car” is a silly metaphor song comparing a woman to a car. Redden is stating that women deserve to be respected and that basically she is a “new car” and that she is worth more than how people treat her daily. “I’m not a junk car” stating she is not trash and that she deserves to be treated the way a real man should treat a woman. We love this song because it explains what women go through and that we barely get respect from men at times. The video is comical itself and not serious at all, but my message behind the song is. Sometimes artist’s need to not be serious to prove a point to their listeners. When I listen to these types of songs; it makes me want to listen to the song more deeply because there could be reasons why artist’s creates music like this. If you’re too serious listeners may not be as intrigued, but when you create a humorous song; I tend to see more of a reaction out of listeners.
