On October 11th, 2024- Kill Lonely released their newest track “EMANCIPATE” via Ghost Killer Entertainment off their upcoming album Numb that will be released November 15th. I recently started listening to this band and whoever I spoke to through social media; they are very genuine and willing to speak to me about their releases! The second they told me about the release and I saw the name for it; it brought back memories when I was 17 and I emancipated myself from my family because I wanted to live with my boyfriend at the time and get away from so toxicity that was making me unhappy. So I knew this song was about distancing yourself from family in a way to be able to live freely without control.

“I will emancipate; Everything that makes me feel dead inside; I will never come back; To point of no return; Drown me in your insecurities; I can’t take this shit anymore” Reading these lyrics reminds me of my life honestly and at times I want to emancipate from everything around me. These lyrics represent feeling trapped and finally realizing you don’t have to deal with the negativity anymore.

“I don’t owe you a fucking thing; Watch me break away from your chains” These lyrics represent the person finally breaking free from the control of someone else and that at this point; you don’t owe that person anything.

“Your so selfish you only care about yourself; Your bridges burn your left to learn and roam this earth all by yourself; Don’t tell me to stay; Just get away; It’s to late” The way I interpret these lyrics is that the person is finally done with this toxic person in their life. And that the person only worries about their own needs and doesn’t take the time to listen to this person who is about to disappear from their life. I understand how this person feels because at times I feel like no one cares about how I feel and why I do the things that I do. And that at this point; I don’t even want to speak to these people nor do I want to talk about my accomplishments with them because I know at the end of the day; they will only make up excuses to tell me to grow up and follow what they want me to do.
