On November 23rd, 2024- Deathbloom released yet another bloodthirsty banger “Embracing Sin” with a video alongside it via LawnChair Youth! Like I said yesterday to another person; North Carolina has some of the heaviest upcoming deathcore bands. The video is simple and to the point which makes the listener focus more on the musicians themselves. Jesse (Vocalist) has some of the most guttural vocals I’ve heard that I can personally tolerate in a deathcore band. And you have Tyler (Bass) adding those mid-vocals to the song as well which having two vocalist’s intensifies the whole track. “Embracing Sin” is such a powerhouse of a track with so much raw emotion to it that you can sense all the aggression and built up anger.
“Embracing sin is all that I know; Embracing sin is all I know; Don’t try to high road me; Ghosts of our past always come to surface; How many skeletons lie hidden in your closet” these lyrics if you read them very carefully; you will understand it’s about those who are hypocrites. We all have our own flaws and at times we don’t embrace those flaws and we pretend to be a different person. “Skeletons lie hidden in your closet” we all have skeletons that we don’t want to surface in our lives, but at the same time; are we being true to ourselves and those around us if we can’t even be honest? This song goes in depth with expressing that no one is better than another person. And that we need to “embrace” our own sins we execute daily.
I can’t wait to see what else Deathbloom has up their sleeves because this band is definitely not afraid to challenge themselves in their creative process. With the amount of high-energy this band radiates; I know they will continue to surpass all their goals with every single release
“The song is about confronting the hypocrisy of others who love to point fingers and place blame. The reality is that no one is perfect. If you think about the things you’ve said and done in your life, do you honestly believe you have the right to put down others or call out their flaws? “Embracing sin” is me being open with myself acknowledging that I’m no better than anyone. I embrace my sins and wear them on my sleeve for open discussion instead of hiding them to appear like a better person.” –Jesse (Vocalist)
