Lemmy Kilmister to take permanent residence at Stringfellows Gentleman’s Club in London

The spirit of rock ‘n’ roll is set to echo permanently at London’s iconic Stringfellows Gentleman’s Club, as Lemmy Kilmister, the legendary frontman of Motörhead, takes up a symbolic full-time residence in one of his favorite haunts. On December 18, 2024, friends, fans, and rock enthusiasts will gather to celebrate this unique tribute to a man whose life was defined by music, camaraderie, and unapologetic living.

Stringfellows Gentleman’s Club, founded in 1980 by nightlife impresario Peter Stringfellow, has long been a haven for celebrities and rock stars. Known for its glamorous atmosphere and relaxed vibe, the club became one of Lemmy’s favorite places to unwind. Whether it was the upbeat ambiance or the shared rock ‘n’ roll ethos between Lemmy and Stringfellow, the connection was immediate and enduring.

“When Lemmy was in London, it was almost a given that you’d find him at Stringfellows,” recalls Sadat Banda, the club’s operations director. The friendship between Lemmy and Stringfellow blossomed over their mutual love for music and the lifestyle it inspired. Even after moving to West Hollywood, Lemmy made a point to visit Stringfellows whenever his European tour schedule allowed.

This December, a miniature replica of Lemmy’s custom urn containing a portion of his ashes will be enshrined at the club as part of the ongoing “Lemmy Forever” series. These ceremonies honor the Motörhead frontman by immortalizing him in locations that held special meaning to his life and legacy.

Motörhead manage, Todd Singerman, shared his thoughts on the tribute: “Stringfellows always held a special place in Lemmy’s heart. He loved the rock ’n’ roll spirit, the relaxed environment, and, of course, the view. I know he’s relieved he can get back to enjoying one of his favorite places on the planet!”

The tribute evening will feature some of Lemmy’s favorite things—good drinks, great music, hors d’oeuvres, and, as one might expect, a dazzling atmosphere. Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell will attend the ceremony, offering heartfelt words and placing Lemmy’s ashes at the club.

The event, scheduled run from 7 pm yo 9 pm, promising to be a fitting celebration of Lemmy’s larger-than-life legacy. It will be a night of rock ‘n’ roll revelry and heartfelt remembrance for one of music’s true icons.

For fans unable to attend, the tribute ensures that Lemmy’s presence at Stringfellows will be permanent, allowing admirers to visit and pay homage to the man who epitomized the rock ‘n’ roll spirit.
