Julia DiGrazia
Julia DiGrazia, a musician from Arizona, is an opener with a unique situation. She is friends with Evan Honer, the headliner, and assists him as a violinist. He also was the one that originally encouraged her to pursue her own music. After their collective release of a cover of “Jersey Giant” by Tyler Childers in 2022, she released her first single the following year, “Rollercoaster,” in 2023. Since then, DiGrazia has continuously released her own music. She came out first at Spirit Hall just her and her guitar and played her songs like “Rollercoaster” and recent releases like “Hey Arizona.” For a cover of “Valerie,” she brought out the whole band. This really reflected how interconnected the opener and headliner are for this leg of Honer’s tour.
Evan Honer
Evan Honer, a country musician quickly gaining success after going to music school in California, has recently finished up his second headline tour this Fall. Last year, him and DiGrazia opened up for Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners and were just performing as their duo. This year on his very own headlining tour, Honer had a full band, including DiGrazia on the violin.
Evan Honer’s style and performance allowed room for heartfelt stories, jokes between the band, and high energy songs. His lyrics are raw and his vocals on stage are spot on. Many of Honer’s songs are recorded as acoustic, so hearing a full band backing him was a beautiful addition to the sound of the songs. Though, he was able to keep the heart of the songs with the lyrics as the focus. One of, arguably, the best parts of the performance was when he transitioned from “Take Me As I Come,” off his 2024 album Fighting For, to “Linger” by the Cranberries. That was not a song I was expecting to hear, but they covered it perfectly. Considering how well “Jersey Giant” has done, I am not surprised. They brought life into Spirit Hall and continued it up through the last songs. Evan Honer is going on tour again in Spring and he is not an artist to miss.
