On December 13th, 2024- Main Street Detour released their sophomore album “Becoming Someone You Knew” after two years! I also got the chance to interview the band the day before the album release to discuss about it in depth. The album is about personal growth and how much people can change through the years. I think we all can relate to this album in numerous ways because each song represents something that we can understand and each song is different. Not one song on this album sounds like another and that’s what makes this album very unique in my opinion.

This album is a collection of memories and emotions that we have compiled from the past years of our lives. Every song captures moments in times that we either look to grow from or heavily embrace as a part of us. Becoming Someone You Knew is about striving to be a better person through all stages of life – being bigger than yourself, and so much so, that you want to be unrecognizable to those who used to know you.Main Street Detour

Here are the questions that I asked Main Street Detour!

  1. How did you guys come up with the band name?
  2. So your sophmore album will be released tomorrow; “Becoming Someone You Knew“; can you tell me a little bit about what the album means to you?
  3. Wasted Years” and “Sick of You” are my favorites; can you tell me more about them? Any personal stories behind them?
  4. I read that it took two years to create this album; how was the process? Any major obstacles?
  5. I also read that “Joy” , “The One That Got Away” and “Stepping Stones” were favorites; is there a reason compared to the other tracks?
