On December 6th, 2024- Morning In May released their holiday track “I’ll Sit On My Own Lap‘ via Ghost Killer Entertainment. I can relate to this release because everyone thinks holidays are perfect, but in reality not everyone has the family they can go home to and it’s not filled with happiness and joy. Jake Bartolic (Vocals) did an outstanding job with giving us that raw emotion in this song and you can sense in his singing that Christmas might’ve not been the best for him or he knows people that do struggle during the holidays. I am not a festive person at all and this song made me realize that I am not alone with how I feel and what I experience. Christmas is not always joyful. It can be painful and dreadful.

“I was trying to write the most real Christmas song I could. I wanted to write an autobiography in song about growing up and the reality of Christmas. I wanted the song to have a raw untouched feel so we just did stripped down acoustic song in my living room as if we were playing the song live right next to you.” – Jake Bartolic
