Acclaimed singer-songwriter and former frontman of The Walkmen, Hamilton Leithauser, is set to close out 2024 and usher in 2025 with some major announcements. On December 6, Leithauser released his latest single, “This Side of the Island,” a poignant anthem reflecting optimism and resilience in a polarized world. Alongside the single, he has unveiled dates for his highly anticipated 2025 “This Side of the Island” Limited Tour, with intimate performances scheduled in Los Angeles, London, Toronto, and Chicago.

“This Side of the Island” is the first track from Leithauser’s forthcoming EP, slated for release in 2025 via Glassnote Records. Co-produced by Leithauser, Aaron Dessner (renowned for his work with The National and Taylor Swift), Leithauser’s wife Anna Stumpf, the single weaves biting humor and heartfelt hope into a rich sonic tapestry.

Discussing the inspiration behind the song, Leithauser shares:

“‘This Side of the Island’ is a song about disillusionment, acceptance, and resolve… Sometimes when I see what I consider to be things barreling in the wrong direction, I feel totally helpless. But I am an optimist… No matter what happens, as long as I’m breathing, I can still sing, ‘I just want you to love me the way I love you.’”

Leithauser’s 2025 tour promises a unique blend of intimate settings and unforgettable performances, expanding the allure of his celebrates residencies at New York’s Cafe Carlyle.
