Stargazing in Brooklyn: Myles Smith’s unforgettable tour debut

Brooklyn’s bitter cold, with temperatures plunging below freezing, couldn’t keep fans away from Myles Smith’s warm and soulful performance at the Paramount. So, how in the middle of January, did Myles sell out the first show of the “We Were Never Strangers” tour? Simply put… going to a Myles Smith concert is like sitting down with that one friend who always knows the perfect thing to say when life gets tough.

The evening kicked off with the opening act, Tors, whose heartfelt energy had the crowd buzzing. Just as they were hitting their stride, though, chaos struck—a water pipe burst in the music hall, just beyond stage left. It was one of those moments that could have derailed the night, but the venue staff handled it like pros, and the audience took it in stride. Despite the open doors giving a chilling breeze through the venue, people laughed, exchanged stories, and kept the vibe alive. That sense of resilience and connection set the perfect stage for what was to come.

By the time Myles stepped into the spotlight, the crowd was ready for him, and he delivered. He opened with “Wait For You,” the perfect track for the patience and resilience shown by the crowd during the unexpected burst pipe. Myles kept the momentum going with songs like “Whisper” and “3am”, both from A Minute…, his new EP released November 2024. Of course, he treated the audience to the crowd favorite, “Solo,” one of his breakthrough songs on TikTok and that propelled him from a conventional desk job to selling out shows across North America and Europe!

To close out the evening, Myles Smith delivered a breathtaking performance of “Stargazing.” The song has amassed millions of streams and has solidified Myles’ place on the global stage, winning both the the 2024 BBC Introducing Artist of the Year and the 2025 BRITs Rising Star Award, and many more nominations. “Stargazing” perfectly encapsulates Myles’ ability to blend vulnerability with hope, leaving the audience with a feeling of awe and connection. It was a fitting finale to a night that celebrated music’s power to comfort, inspire, and unite.

His music doesn’t just entertain—it heals. His live performances are a shared experience: a reminder that even in the chaos, connection and comfort can shine through.
