Cecilia Castleman releases debut album on her 24th birthday eve

Rising singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Cecilia Castleman celebrates her birthday a day early with the release of her self-titled debut album via Glassnote Records. Recorded at the iconic Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles and produced by six-time Grammy Award winner Don Was, Cecilia Castleman is an introspective and heartfelt journey through self-discovery. Influenced by legends like Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, and Jonni Mitchell, Castleman seamlessly blends pop and Americana melodies with haunting vocals and sharp songwriting.

Reflecting on her debut, Castleman shared, “This record is a composition of my fragile thoughts. I wrote and played everything I knew. It’s scary to be that vulnerable, but it’s easier to sing how I felt rather than say it. This record has something for everyone—the thinkers, the dancers, the dreamers, the guitar players and singers, and the lonely ones… this is for you.”

Accompanying the release is the music video for the focus track “Waiting On You,” directed and edited by Oscar Villanueva. The video, filmed at Nashville’s Battle Tapes studio, gives fans an intimate glimpse into Castleman’s creative process. The track showcases Cecilia’s extraordinary guitar skills and vocal range, with influences from Dire Straits, John Mayer, and Fleetwood Mac. “This is one of my favorite songs on the record,” she explained.

Her debut single, “Lonely Nights,” debuted on Apple Music 1 with Zane Lowe, earning praise for its emotional depth and intricate arrangements. Tracks from her album have also been featured in HBO Max and Netflix productions, further cementing her status as an artist to watch.

To mark the release of Cecilia Castleman, the artist will host a special hometown showcase at The Blue Room, Third Man Records, in Nashville on January 25. The event will include an exclusive signing and promises an unforgettable evening for fans.
