Poison the Well unleash “Trembling Level” – their first new song in 15 years

Poison the Well, one of metal-core’s most influential bands, has made a triumphant return with “Trembling Level,” their first new track in 15 years. The release coincides with the band’s 25th-anniversary tour celebrating their seminal album The Opposite of December… A Season of Separation and their recent signing with SharpTone Records.

Poison the Well’s latest song, “Trembling Level,” is a blistering reminder of their ability to blend melody, chaos, and emotion into a sonic assault. Harmonies slice through crushing riffs, wihle Jeff Moreira’s impassioned screams guide the song through its intricate structure. The track builds to a climactic breakdown, punctuated by the haunting lyric: “Don’t you let the silhouettes lead you to the ocean floor.”

“For me, I was trying to figure out how to effectively incorporate elements from our whole discography into one song,” guitarist Ryan Primack shares. “We ended up with this, and it has a little bit of everything we’ve done throughout the course of our existence.”

Lyrically, Moreira explains, “It’s about tacking a fear. You’re approaching something you’re scared to do, going through it, and realizing that hardest parts are actually the ones you should be looking towards because those will lead you to success.”

In addition to new music, Poison the Well has officially signed with SharpTone Record, signaling more exciting releases on the horizon. The band has also just solidified its lineup, officially welcoming longtime live members Noah Harmon (bass) and Vadim Taver (guitar) into the fold.

Marking 25 years since the release of their groundbreaking album The Opposite of December… A Season of Separation, Poison the Well is hitting the road for a celebratory tour. The band will play the album in its entirety each night, giving fans an unmissable experience.

Glassjaw, Better Lovers, and Teenage Wrist will provide support on select dates, making this tour one of the most anticipated metal-core events of the year.

“For me, The Opposite of December… represents everything I absorbed as a teenager: the shows, the music, the raw energy of hardcore and punk. I never imagined that record would still resonate 25 years later,” says Moreira. “This upcoming tour is so much more than just a series of shows. It’s a celebration of that record, its impact, and the journey we’ve shared together.”

The tour kicks off on April 3 in Mesa, Arizona, and runs through April 29 in Toronto. Some dates will not feature Glassjaw or Teenage Wrist, so fans are encouraged to check the event details before purchasing tickets.
