Trousdale’s ‘Want Me Back’: A heartfelt ode to love’s lingering echoes

Los Angeles-based trio Trousdale has released their latest single, “Want Me Back,” just in time for Valentine’s Day. The newly released track is accompanied by a dreamy music video that transports listeners back in time to what feels like the 1980s. The song explores the yearning for an ex’s regret post-breakup, capturing the bittersweet desire for reconciliation.

Lauren Jones, one-third of Trousdale, shared insights into the song’s creation: “I went into our recording session thinking the song would end up straight country, and Quinn and Georgia thought it would be straight pop. Our bassist worked some doo-wop into the mix, and we found something really special to lean into.”

The music video, which was co-directed by the trio and Aaron Kohn, showcases Trousdale in their signature pink, blue, and green colors and delivers a ballad set against an 80s backdrop.

“Want Me Back” is the second single from their upcoming sophomore album, “Growing Pains,” (pre-save here) set to be released on April 11. The album was primarily recorded live in the studio and was co-produced by the band. The trio utilized a live rhythm section for this record, resulting in a more cohesive and tighter sound than ever before.

In support of the album, Trousdale is set to embark on a 29-date North American headline tour starting April 30 in Philadelphia and wrapping up on June 21 in Los Angeles. The tour will feature Beane and Nia Ashleigh in opening roles. The band is also partnering with The Ally Coalition on behalf of The California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund, donating $1 from each ticket to support rebuilding efforts for those most affected by the wildfires in California.

Tickets for the “Growing Pains” tour are on sale now, with some shows already sold out or nearing capacity. Grab your tickets while they’re still available!
