Forest Blakk, a Canadian singer-songwriter, released his latest single, “Love You ‘Til Death,” on February 14, 2025.

Writing poems since the age of 15, Forest began the exploration of putting his poems to music by learning how to play a guitar, gifted to him by his grandmother. By the age of 21, he had formed a band that had later earned them a JUNO nomination.

Blakk gradually embraced the more soulful and folk-style music that now defines his distinguished sound. “Love Me” was one of Blakk’s first songs embodying his soulful sound. During the pandemic lockdown in 2020, Blakk wrote the song “If You Love Her,” which blew up on Tiktok all over the world, launching his career in the music industry.

Fans, myself included, have been patiently waiting for Blakk to release new music since his last EP, “Undone (Love & Loss) Deluxe,” and his previous single, “Make it Better.” Teasing “Love You ‘Til Death” across all social media platforms since early February, I couldn’t wait to listen to the entirety of the song.

Listening to the song for the first time, I can’t help but feel the love that he feels for his Wife Tooley Jones, and the inspiring relationship that they share with the world. Singing on how he’ll love her until their death.

The chorus of the song reads:

“If I was playing God, we’d have a thousand years ahead, but I can’t, so I’ll adore you, every day that we have left, and when judgment comes to take me, well, I won’t play hard to get, knowing that I, knowing that I, loved you right ‘til death, I’ll love you ‘til death.“

Coming from a love-song fanatic myself, I am overjoyed with the release of this song on Valentine’s Day, a fitting date for the thematic approach Blakk pursues. The way Forest Blakk plays with words showcases his lyrical genius, and the song seamlessly reflects his marriage. I couldn’t be more excited for Forest to release more of his music.
