My Morning Jacket is back with a bang, unveiling their electrifying new single, “Squid Ink.” This hard-hitting track is now available on all streaming platforms. Alongside the release, the band has dropped a music video!
Jim James, the voice behind My Morning Jacket says, “the idea behind Squid Ink is that certain people radiate negativity, filling a space with murkiness—like a squid releasing ink.” He continues, “The song came together from a basement jam with Patrick, and I wanted to create a vocal approach that felt like putting a disguise on the lyrics, something unique and unexpected.”
“Squid Ink” is the second preview from My Morning Jacket’s highly anticipated album is, set for release on March 21 via ATO Records. This marks the band’s tenth studio album and their first full-length effort in over three years.
The album is produced by three-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam), the record has already generated buzz with its lead single, Time Waited, which you can stream HERE.

TOUR DATES
Following the album drop, My Morning Jacket ventures out an extensive U.S. headline tour, kicking off on April 1 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As part of their ongoing commitment to sustainability, My Morning Jacket is partnering with environmental nonprofit REVERB to implement eco-friendly initiatives on tour and support REVERB’s Music Decarbonization Project to minimize the carbon footprint of live music.
