Park City Music Hall had no idea what hit it when High Fade rolled through on March 1, 2025. The Edinburgh-based trio doesn’t just play funk—they unleash it, turning every venue they step into into a full-blown groove fest. The band has been carving out a name for themselves with viral videos and relentless touring. Their DIY hustle and raw talent have taken them from busking on the streets of Edinburgh to headlining venues across the world.
But before their set even started, One Time Weekend made sure the crowd was more than warmed up. Hailing from Connecticut, the band brought their signature jam-meets-rock energy. They’ve built a solid local following, and it showed—people weren’t just waiting for the headliner; they were fully locked in. During One Time Weekend’s final song, High Fade’s guitarist jumped in to duel with OTW’s lead guitarist, each pushing the other to go harder, faster, and funkier. You could practically hear Ron Burgundy say: “Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast.”
Then came High Fade’s set, and within seconds, it was clear why these guys are making waves, selling out nearly every venue on their U.S. tour—including Park City Music Hall. Dressed in kilts (because would you expect anything less from Scottish funkmasters?), they launched into a relentless set packed with groove-heavy bass lines, blistering guitar solos, and infectious drums. If the Red Hot Chili Peppers swapped the California sun for Scottish whiskey, I have a feeling the result would sound a lot like this.
What makes High Fade stand out isn’t just their technical precision—it’s their ability to turn every show into a full-blown house party. After closing their set with “Life’s Too Fast,” off their latest album of the same name, the boys from One Time Weekend jumped back on stage for a chaotic, full-band mosh pit. Meanwhile, High Fade’s shirtless drummer grabbed the mic and tore through a cover of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff” to close things out. A funk band covering nu-metal? Hell yeah!
The @ryanreid.sound Check: I don’t always get backstage access or the chance to interact with bands, but this time, I did. No rockstar egos—just easy conversation, jokes, and genuine excitement for the night ahead. High Fade doesn’t just play—they pull everyone into their groove and never let go. No pretense, just pure, unfiltered fun. You walk out leaving a High Fade show grinning like you just got away with something, ears ringing, and adrenaline still surging from the last note!
