Disturbed sets Milwaukee on fire

Disturbed is currently on tour with Three Days Grace and Sevendust, delivering a night to remember for fans all across North America. Although I was only in the pit for the first three songs of each act before being escorted out of the venue, the crowd loved every second of it and I was right there beside them, soaking up the moment of rock nostalgia. It might have been a Tuesday night, but the audience definitely came prepared for a good time.

Sevendust put on a solid performance, their lead singer moved and danced with the crowd. However, the rest of the band didn’t stand out as much, they were just there—the performance was alright, but lacked the heart-thumping synergy between band members and the fans. It was all about the singer and how he connected with the crowd. The drummer, though, had a cool overall getup that made for great photos.

Three Days Grace was second to take the stage, and they were the act I was most excited for—they did not disappoint. They opened with one of my personal favorite songs, “Animal I Have Become,” and it was everything. I’m sure that dude standing right in front of the catwalk felt the same way—maybe even more. As the lights dimmed before Three Days Grace took the stage, he was screaming his head off. He was beyond excited, and I hope he had an amazing time.

When Disturbed took the stage, the curtain rose to reveal the lead singer being wheeled out on a dolly, wearing a muzzle and straight jacket. Definitely not something I was really prepared for. Their set was intense: fireworks, pyro, and every band member waltzed up and down the catwalk with such grace. I had never photographed a show with pyro before, and the heat from the flames was crazy. It was a big moment for me. More shows need to have pyro—enough said.
