That was this writer’s exact thoughts after having the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sit down with the magnificent singer- songwriter Drake Livingston to discuss his upcoming deluxe album A Hometown Odyssey: The Story Continues. This album, reportedly a spin off to his current album, A Hometown Odyssey, is set to drop today, shared through an exclusive listen to one of his most cherished pieces of work. Drake Livingston is set to release his album A Hometown Odyssey: The Story Continues this Friday, March 7, 2025. 

Livingston also took time to sit down via zoom with a select few fans to discuss his album, his upcoming North America tour, and, most diligently, his musical future and the manifestation of his music. 

Listening to Livingston respond to a series of mindful questions asked by those in attendance representing various publications was very interesting. As Livingston shared his thoughts, feelings, views about his growth in the music industry, and hopes for the future, he harbored on the peers working alongside him who continue to help make his dream possible, while honing in on the expressions of passion for his love of the music scene. In response, this writer felt a sincere sense of understanding and compassion for Livingston’s profound art. 

As each attendee asked Livingston their question, this writer observed immensely and listened with empathy. As it approached this writers turn to ask on behalf of The Concert Chronicles, this writer was unable to unmute and requested the host to kindly ask on behalf. As the host Meagan reiterated to Livingston that this writer could not unmute the microphone she kindly informed Livingston she’d ask the question on behalf of The Concert Chronicles. 

“We noticed a slight change in some of the songs in the vocal production on ‘The Story Continues‘  is a change in style coming or is it just a one-off for these songs?” Meagan asked.

Livingston responded, “uh, I am always trying to change, and evolve. I think I was kind of having to hold back a little bit that instinct to change and evolve, because like I said we are still in the same album. I didn’t want these songs to feel out of place with the original. I wanted them to feel like the climax of that album right. Like what it had been kind of fulminating to, but yeah I am definitely itching to uh evolve even more so”. 

Meagan thanked Livingston for answering and other attendees were given the opportunity to ask their questions. 

Previously Livingston had shared a special first listen for all attendees to hear a song from the new album first. This writer can reassure the that the composition of this song radiates such a gorgeous tempo, and dynamic. Livingston reported the song he allowed attendees to exclusively preview is one of his favorites and one of his that mean the most to him.
