The Callous Daoboys unveil “Lemon” and announce forthcoming album

Atlanta-based sextet The Callous Daoboys continue to push creative boundaries with their latest track, “Lemon,” accompanied by a striking new music video. The release is the second single from their highly anticipated album I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven, set for release on May 17 via MNRK Heavy.

Following the unveiling of “Two-Headed Trout/The Demon of Unreality Limping Like A Dog,” “Lemon” provides another glimpse into the band’s genre-defying sound, seamlessly merging heavy instrumentation with a pop-infused edge. Frontman Carson Pace describes the song as an anthem for artists battling judgement and discouragement.

“Some people are going to love this one, some people are going to hate this one—it’s just the reality of things,” said Pace, “‘Lemon’ represents every frustration you’ve ever had with a judgmental lover who want you to give up on your art. ‘Lemon’ says, ‘fuck that, you didn’t love me anyway.’”

The official music video for “Lemon” is available to watch now, and fans can stream the track on all major platforms. Pre-orders for I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven are currently open.

A fearless collective from Atlanta, Georgia, The Callous Daoboys blend extreme metal, nu-metal, and post-hardcore into an exhilarating sonic experience. Dubbed “gloriously chaotic” by Kerrang!, their music fuses heavy riffs with unhinged energy and genre-bending experimentation.

The band features Carson Pace on vocals, guitarists Maddie Caffrey and Daniel Hodsdon, bassist Jackie Buckalew, drummer Matthew Hague, and violinist Amber Christman. They have captivated audiences on tours with TesseracT, Protest The Hero, and SeeYouSpaceCowboy and have performed at major international metal festivals. Celebrity Therapist (2022) set a new standard for their sound, and I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven (2025) promises to push those boundaries even further.

With accolades from SPIN, Fader, Revolver, Brooklyn Vegan, and MetalSucks, The Callous Daoboys continue to challenge expectations and redefine heavy music. As their latest release “Lemon” proves, they are a band that refuses to be confined by genre, delivering both raw intensity and undeniable hooks.
