Jon Bellion returns with “Wash” – His first solo single in six years

After a six-year hiatus from solo music, GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer Jon Bellion is making a triumphant return with his highly anticipated single “Wash.” The release comes as a double single, accompanied by the re-release of “Kid Again,” reaffirming Bellion’s signature fusion of storytelling and sonic innovation.

“Wash” arrives with an evocative music video that first premiered exclusively to Bellion’s devoted fan club, underscoring his deep connection with his audience. Featuring stunning cinematography of Iceland’s dramatic landscapes, the video—directed by Erik Saltzman and Cameron Tidball-Sciullo (91 Rules)—mirrors the song’s sweeping emotional depth. With crashing waves, volcanic eruptions, and rainfall, the visuals enhance the track’s poignant themes of love’s enduring power and transformation.

Musically, “Wash” takes inspiration from Dave Matthews Band’s “Why I Am,” blending Bellion’s commanding vocals with swelling strings and jangling guitars. Lyrically, Bellion paints a picture of devotion and commitment within marriage. “The majority of ‘Wash’ is about my wife,” Bellion explains. “We say all the time, ‘I’ll always meet you in the middle.’ It’s about the pursuit of love, the beauty of commitment, and how intimacy deepens over time.”

Meanwhile, “Kid Again” taps into nostalgia, featuring a magnetic guitar loop and a sharp-edged beat enhanced by Bellion’s innovative vocal manipulation. After reflecting on the track’s inception, Bellion shares, ‘We made ‘Kid Again’ two days after I found out I was getting my contract back. It felt like a return to the carefree creativity of my early mixtape days—a way to tell fans, ‘I’m back.’”

Bellion’s return is more than just new music—its a reaffirmation of his relationship with his fans. His exclusive fan-focused rollout saw more than 20,000 sign-ups on his forum within weeks of the announcement. “I really want to serve those who have been there with me,” Bellion says. “I walked away at the peak of my career, but the fans never left. This is for them.”

Following his 2018 album Glory Sounds Prep, Bellion shifted focus behind the scenes, crafting hits for artists like Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, and Jimin. He also founded Beautiful Mind Records in 2019, signing artists like Tori Kelly and Lawrence. Now, with his renegotiated contract, Bellion is stepping back into the spotlight on his own terms.

With “Wash” and “Kid Again” marking the beginning of a new chapter, Jon Bellion’s resurgence signals that his journey is far from over—if anything, it’s just getting started.
