DED are back and more relentless than ever with their latest single, “Until I Die,” featuring Chris Motionless of Motionless in White. The track, accompanied by a gripping music video, marks a powerful statement from the Phoenix-based rockers as they charge into 2025 with unyielding energy and ambition.
The song serves as a personal manifesto for frontman Joe Cotela, who explains, “‘Until I Die’ is a statement about drawing a line for my life. It’s me separating myself from the bullshit. It’s my mission statement to do everything in my power to be the change that I want to see in the world while I am here.” Cotela further expressed his excitement about collaborating with Motionless, adding, “It was such an honor to have Chris on this track as a fan of his body of work and as a friend. We meet on tour together, and he was such a big champion of DED. He’s true blue—just a great human being—which made him perfect to be on this song. He murdered his parts and added a ferocity that only he could have done.”
The new single follows “Rockstar,” a hard-hitting track released last fall that signaled DED’s revitalization. Both songs showcase the band’s signature mix of nü metal, hardcore, punk, and rock, infused with anthemic hooks and relentless intensity.
DED’s resurgence is further solidified by their recent signing with indie powerhouse UNFD, a label known for its roster of heavy-hitters like ERRA, Crossfaith, and Invent Animate. With this new partnership, the band is poised to reach new heights, bringing their cathartic and aggressive sound to an even wider audience.
The band’s journey began with their debut album Mis-An-Thrope, which generated over 25 million streams and secured multiple Billboard chart placements, including #1 on the Alternative New Artist chart. Singles like “Anti-Everything” and “Remember the Enemy” became staples at Active Rock Radio, with “Anti-Everything” earning DED the title of SiriusXM Octane’s “Artist Discovery of the Year” in 2017. Their sophomore album School of Thought followed in 2021, delivering hits like “Kill Beautiful Things,” which became their highest-charting radio track, landing in the Top 15 and amassing millions of streams.
DED’s presence in the live circuit has been equally formidable, having performed at major festivals like Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Rocklahoma, and Rock on the Range. They’ve also shared stages with heavyweights such as Korn, Stone Sour, In This Moment, and Black Veil Brides, solidifying their reputation as a powerhouse act.
As they continue to evolve, DED remains comitted to their mission of delivering music that speaks to the struggles and triumphs of their listeners. “Until I Die” is more than just a song—it’s an anthem of perseverance, self-determination, and unfiltered energy.
With a new label, a reinvigorated sound, and an unstoppable drive, DED are set to dominate 2025. Watch the video for “Until I Die” and witness the next chapter of their journey unfold.
