On March 27, 2025, Reba McEntire made her way across the border to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario, undeniably selling out tickets for her show.

Driving for close to four hours, I finally made it to the venue and immediately saw fans from near and far, dressed up in their best country outfits. Men were wearing cowboy hats and women were wearing sparkle and fringe coats, with sequence shirts. Talking with fans who came from as far as Bracebridge, Ontario, and others coming from the state of Michigan. This night meant a great deal to fans—Reba is, after all, one of the biggest names in country music.

Starting her set with an uplifting tune, “Turn on the Radio,” she immediately got fans up and out of their chairs to dance and sing along with her. Wearing a black sparkle fringe jacket, a silver sparkle shirt, and black rhinestone knee-high boots. She was shining on stage the entire night.

A few songs in, Reba paused to have a small talk with the audience, stating that she hasn’t performed in Canada since 2014, and how thrilled she was to return, especially in a brand new venue. She also noted that her birthday was the next day, March 28, and that she was excited to be spending her birthday with everyone at the show. She also proudly shared that 2025 marks her 50th year in the music industry, and how grateful she was to have such an amazing opportunity being in country music for all those years: she added, “I’m not hanging up my microphone yet.”

Later in the set, Reba played “You Lie,” which ended with an impressive guitar and saxophone solo by a couple of her band members. Midway through the show, she delivered a series of full-cover songs, including renditions of Ethel Merman, Otis Redding, The Supremes, Vicki Lawrence and even one from the mainstream pop star Dua Lipa

She closed her main set with “Why Haven’t I Heard From You,” encouraging fans to sing the song with her by pointing her microphone toward the crowd. As she was leaving the stage, just when it seemed the night was over, Reba quickly got changed for her encore song. Returning back onto the stage dazzling in a red sparkly dress and matching rhinestone knee-high boots, she sang her most iconic hit of her career, “Fancy.” Saving this fan-favorite for the end of her set was a great move, leaving no doubt in fans that she’ll be coming back onstage to end with her biggest hit—anticipation surged and the room vibrated with fever.

Throughout her show, a large screen displayed visualizer videos behind her, and I thought it was an engaging and unique idea to incorporate into her set.

Reba began her career in 1977 at just 22 years old and has remained a dominant force in the business ever since. Her musical style spans genres, including neo-traditionalist country, Religious, country, contemporary country, and country gospel.

Reba made her country music debut with her self-titled album, Reba McEntire, in 1977, boasting a remarkable 11-song tracklist. She has since released 12 albums as well as a 10-years of greatest hits album, Reba McEntire’s Greatest Hits. While most of the releases throughout her career have been albums, she unveiled her first single in 1997, “What If.” Most recently, in 2023, she released an acoustic album, called Not That Fancy, full of hits from over the years and covers from fellow country musicians.

Reba hasn’t only been in the music industry for most of her life; along the way she’s also starred in her own show, “Reba,” which aired on TV from 2001-2007. Last year, she returned to television as a star in the NBC comedy ‘Happy’s Place.’ The first season recently wrapped, and Reba announced the show has been renewed for a second season—and they’re all extremely excited to get back on the set.
