Rising alt artist and emotional lyricist honestav is pulling back the curtain even further on his breakout project. This week, the Missouri-born singer-songwriter announced a deluxe edition of his critically acclaimed hara-kiri EP, set to arrive on April 18, offering fans an expanded insight into his raw, grief-stricken yet hope-fueled sonic world.
To mark the announcement, honestav also released a new single, “Livin’ Wrong,” available to stream everywhere now. A music video, filmed in his hometown of Pierce City, Missouri, dropped this past week and features over 350 local fans who showed up to support the hometown hero. The video is a nostalgic love letter to small-town roots, grief, and the bittersweet feeling of leaving the past behind.
Originally released in November 2024, the hara-kiri EP has become a defining moment in honestav’s rapid rise. Led by viral tracks like “I’d Rather Overdose” and “Hurts To Fall In Love,” the 12-track project has racked up over 130 million streams, peaked at #10 on the Apple Music chart, and currently sits at #34 on the Alternative Radio Chart.
The deluxe edition promises even more of the honesty and vulnerability that’s resonated so deeply with fans.
“Livin’ Wrong is really about confronting where you come from without resenting it,” honestav shared. “I’ve made a lot of mistakes, and sometimes you wonder if you’re just wired that way — like you were raised on it. But there’s peace in owning it, too.”
honestav is currently in the middle of his first national headlining run, the “No License Tour,” which has sold-out nearly every date across the country — from Chicago and Philadelphia to San Francisco and Seattle. His intimate shows offer fans a direct line into his music and message, often pairing confessional storytelling with stripped-down arrangements and bursts of explosive emotion.

Born and raised outside of Springfield, Missouri, honestav started releasing music in 2021 following the devasting losses of his father and brother. His breakout track, “I’d Rather Overdose,” was written in the depths of that grief—and unexpectedly exploded, earning over 114 million streams and leading to a MOD SUN remix that hit #21 on Billboard’s Alternative Chart.
With a blend of indie-folk, emo-rap, alternative rock, and Midwest storytelling, honestav has carved out a space entirely his own—equal parts Post Malone, Zach Bryan, and nothing you’ve ever heard before.
What sets honestav apart is his radical transparency. From songs about addiction and mental health to his raw DIY videos filmed with his real-life friends and fans, he’s created a safe space for emotional honesty in a genre often afraid to feel too much.
With backing from Rebel Music/gamma and a booking deal through WME, honestav’s momentum is undeniable. But even as he climbs the charts and sells out rooms across the country, he continues to bring his hometown—and all its scars—with him.

For fans of authenticity, vulnerability, and music that tells the truth—honestav is the voice you’ve been waiting for. Don’t miss hara-kiri (Deluxe) on April 18
