ODESZA, the three-time Grammy-nominated electronic duo known for their emotive, atmospheric soundscapes, has announced an unexpected and thrilling new collaboration with Apple TV+’s award-winning psychological thrilling, “Severance.” Titled Music To Refine: A Remix Companion to Severance, the seven-track EP reimagines Theodore Shapiro’s haunting original score through ODEZSA’s signature sonic lens—and it’s set to drop official on April 4 via their own label, Foreign Family Collection.
The first single, “Entering Lumon (ODESZA Severance Remix),” is available now, giving listeners an immersive, chilling preview of what’s to come.
ODESZA’s remix project is inspired by the dual realities of the “Severance” universe—where employees at Lumon Industries have their work and personal lives surgically divided. It’s music built for your “innie,” and a nod to those long, introspective hours at the office—whether you’re actually severed or just deep in the zone.
“When Apple reached out to us to remix the ‘Severance’ score in January, we were so ecstatic to play with the themes and atmosphere of the show,” ODESZA shared. “We’re huge fans of the series and it was an absolute honor working with Theodore Shapiro’s score. We hope both you and your innie will enjoy the journey.”
Before becoming an official EP, the music debuted as an 8-hour continuous looped YouTube visual-audio experience—a minimalist, ambient dreamscape aptly titled “Music To Refine To.” The video has already been viewed over 2 million times in two weeks, with ODESZA’s post about the collaboration reaching 3.5 million views across social platforms.
