Emo stalwarts and longtime fan favorites Mayday Parade have officially announced a stacked 20-year anniversary tour—and they’re bringing it to stages all across the United States. The Florida-based band will perform alongside pop-punk hallmarks Microwave and indie-rock stars Grayscale as part of their “Three Cheers for Twenty Years” North American tour.
The tour—kicking off April 22 in St. Petersburg, Florida, and running through June 7—celebrates two decades of music, mayhem, and memories. It promises a full-throttle, career-spanning setlist packed with classics, deep cuts, and brand-new material from their upcoming projects.
“This tour is the culmination of the band’s career for the past 20 years,” said guitarist Alex Garcia. “We wanted to go all out… and provide our fans with a memorable and very special experience.” He emphasized that this journey isn’t just about the five members on stage, but also their crew and, most importantly, the fans. “Your energy and support fuel this dream.”
This milestone tour also ushers in a bold new chapter for the band. On April 18, Mayday Parade will release Sweet, the first installment of a three-part, self-released album—their first independent project since their 2006 breakout Tales Told By Dead Friends EP. Longtime producers Zack Odom and Kenneth Mouth are back behind the boards, and the band is using this new trilogy to reflect on their evolution, experiment creatively, and stay true to their emo-pop-punk roots.
Featuring songs like “By The Way” and “Pretty Good To Feel Something”—both already teased with official music videos—Sweet is poised to strike a perfect balance of introspection and anthemic energy. The full trilogy will roll through 2025 and into 2026, ultimately forming the band’s eighth full-length studio album, their first since 2021’s What It Means To Fall Apart.
Since emerging from Tallahassee in 2005, Mayday Parade has carved out a place as one of the genre’s most enduring and beloved acts. Their gold-certified debut, A Lesson in Romantics (2007), is regularly cited as a foundational emo record, while later albums like Monsters in the Closet (2013) debuted in the Billboard Top 10. They’ve produced certified platinum and gold singles, such as “Jamie All Over, “Miserable At Best,” and “Oh Well, Oh Well”—and consistently delivered the kind of emotionally raw, hook-heavy music that resonates across generations.
Now, in 2025, the band is embracing both its past and future. Between Sweet, its upcoming sibling releases, and a massive tour that culminates with a hometown show in Tallahassee on June 7, this is shaping up to be one of the most significant eras in Mayday Parade’s history.
