Morgan Wallen to launch Sand In My Boots in Alabama, set for May 2025

Country megastar Morgan Wallen is bringing his signature blend of Southern soul, genre-bending swagger, and beachside vibes to Gulf Shores, Alabama, with the launch of his first-ever music festival, “Sand In My Boots,” set for May 16 to 18, 2025. This three0day event marks a bold new chapter in Wallen’s already record-setting career—and he’s not doing it alone.

In partnership with AEG Presents and the creators of “Coachella,” “Stagecoach,” and “Hangout Music Festival,” Wallen is transforming the Alabama Gulf Coast into a destination for music lovers of all stripes. From country icons and chart-topping rappers to indie rock staples and EDM heavyweights, the “Sand In My Boots Festival” promises one of the most eclectic lineups every curated by a country artist.

Not only is Wallen kicking off the inaugural event, he’s also dropping his highly anticipated fourth studio album, I’m The Problem, on the same day the festival opens. It’s a deeply personal record, shaped during a reflective year spent on his farm near Nashville. “I have been a problem, for sure,” Wallen says. “But there are other sides to me as well… I think it’s time to move past that phase in my life.”

Two singles—”Just In Case” and “I’m a Little Crazy“—join previously released tracks as a taste of what’s to come. The release will cap off a whirlwind season that also includes a March 29 performance on “Saturday Night Live.”

The “Sand in My Boots” lineup reads like a greatest hits playlist across multiple genres. Alongside Wallen himself, confirmed acts include:

  • Post Malone, Wallen’s “I Had Some Help” collaborator
  • Brooks and Dunn, Country Music Hall of Famers
  • Wiz Khalifa, Moneybagg Yo, and Three 6 Mafia, bringing hip-hop heat
  • Diplo, EDM’s festival king
  • The War on Drugs, Future Islands, and Real Estate, offering alt-rock bliss
  • BigXThaPlug, T-Pain, Riley Green, Bailey Zimmerman, Ella Langley, HARDY, ERNEST, Chase Rice, and more

The diverse lineup reflects Wallen’s personal playlist—and his vision for a music experience that stretches beyond genre boundaries.

Taking place on the same beachfront site as the long-running “Hangout Festival,” “Sand In My Boots” is a one-year “takeover” that coincides with Hangout’s 15th anniversary. Organizers have highlighted the location’s accessibility—just three hours from New Orleans, six from Atlanta, and eight from Nashville—making it a magnet for fans across the South and beyond.

Described as a “blend of boardwalk charm and hometown warmth,” the festival promises more than just music. Pass types range from General Admission to “Livin’ The Dream” luxury, with access to private lounges, gourmet dining, main-stage swimming pools, and suites with balconies overlooking the stage.

The festival takes its name from Wallen’s double-platinum hit, “Sand In My Boots,” a 2021 breakout that became a fan favorite for its wistful lyrics and classic heartbreak ballad charm. Written by Ashley Gorley, HARDY, and Josh Osbourne, the song embodies the emotion and nostalgia at the heart of Wallen’s music—and now, his own festival.

“Sand In My Boots” is just the latest in Wallen’s growing role as not just a performer but a curator and entrepreneur. Earlier this year, he and Eric Church launched the “Field & Stream Music Festival,” thought it was postponed due to Hurricane Helene. The two also acquired the Field & Stream brand, signaling Wallen’s deeper investment in lifestyle and culture ventures.

And now, with “Sand In My Boots” set to debut alongside a new album, Wallen is doubling down on his influence in both music and live experience.
