ABSINTHE GREEN Releases “Dysphoric Recall”

“You know that twisted little trick your brain plays on you? The one where it takes the most gut-wrenching, soul-crushing experiences of your life and wraps them in a pretty little bow of nostalgia? That’s euphoric recall—the reason people keep running back to what broke them. Well, not this time. ‘Dysphoric Recall’ is the sound of a bad decision coming back to haunt you. This song drags you through the wreckage of a relationship built on deception and self-destruction, forcing you to relive every twisted moment of it. It’s dark, bitter, and merciless—just like the kind of love that leaves scars instead of memories. The lyrics lay bare the masochistic cycle of falling for the same manipulative games, knowing full well how it ends. It’s about being torn between rage and addiction, between the need to escape and the sick craving for one more hit of the poison. The final blow? That brutal realization that you don’t just remember the pain—you need it.” – Absinthe Green

Dysphoric Recall” is about being unhappy, dissatisfied, and wanting a change due to feeling so negative about a certain situation and this single clearly is speaking about a relationship. The video is in junk yard which could be a metaphor for taking out the trash basically and destroying unwanted trash you don’t need in your life. You can also take this video as a person finally taking a stand and realizing that you are self-destructing staying in this relationship that is slowly making you lose yourself as an individual. Green’s vocals in this single expresses empowerment and self-discovery with such power behind them to bring the lyrics to life.

“Dysphoric Recall”

Cunning eyes I’m paralysed, you got me spinning in the air

I closed the door yet you got in, I want to trust you but I’m scared

You’re waiting patiently in the corner finding ways to pull me close

And yet again my bleeding heart knows you’ re the torment that I chose

You were the one who made me crawl

Pushed me hard just to see me fall

And I can’t help but realize

How much I need this dysphoric recall

Another lie, so well disguised, though I somehow knew it from the start

that you and I would never work, another flesh of a corrupted heart

We built our worlds from empty words and we swore nothing would keep us apart

now you’re gone ,I’m left alone and dying is my art

You were the one who made me crawl

Pushed me hard just to see me fall

And I can’t help but realize

How much I need this dysphoric recall

You haunt my dreams I hardly sleep

You are the hardest lesson I have learnt

My heart is no longer yours to keep

No matter all the times you hit your head

Your love is pain and hurt remains

your affection is abuse

I should have left you on that fucking beach

‘cause I got nothing left to lose

In slow demise I’m mesmerized, there’s only suffering and pain ahead

Another night, another minute that I’m wishing I was left for dead

Feeling alive doesn’t do much as I hear your whispers in my head

How can I stop this misery? How can I dry the tears that I have shed?

You were the one who made me crawl

Pushed me hard just to see me fall

And I can’t help but realize

How much I need this dysphoric recall

Absinthe Green began as a personal project in 2016, led by songwriter and producer Eirini ‘Absinthe Green’ in Dortmund, Germany. After moving back to Greece in 2019, Absinthe was joined by drummer Harry Mason, bassist Villy Pirris, and later guitarist Panos Economakis, forming the full band lineup. Since then, they’ve been captivating audiences with their emotionally charged sound, fusing pop elements, aggressive guitars, groovy rhythms, and a versatile vocal range.

Genres blur and definitions falter when it comes to Absinthe Green. Whether you call them Alternative Metal, Hard Rock, or something else entirely, their music is a rich tapestry of influences and life experiences. A critic once described them as “a melodic storm of beauty and heartbreak, both ferocious and tender.” Soul-stirring vocals shift seamlessly between power and fragility, while skillful guitar work and infectious grooves underpin melodies that cut straight to the core.

Absinthe’s songwriting is raw and unflinching, revealing deep truths about love, pain, and redemption. Their lyrics explore life’s duality—where joy and sorrow, hope and despair coexist in an ever-shifting dance. The band’s debut album, Of Love and Pain, produced by renowned producer Hiili Hiilesmaa, will be released in 2025. It ventures into the contradictions of the human experience, where destruction and creation, light and darkness, merge in a symphony of emotional depth and power.
