Throughout both days of High Water Festival; I got to see so many different talented musicians, but the ones that caught my eyes were truly the two openers of each day! Easy Honey and Goldie Boutilier set the tone for the rest of the day on both days and High Water Festival did a phenomenal job with choosing these two artists! The two headliners were Lord Huron and Arcade Fire which I only knew about Lord Huron, but the other headliner I had no idea who they were which made me more excited. I love going to festivals or shows not knowing artists because I get the true raw feeling of listening to them for the first time.
Below we have Easy Honey who are from Charleston, SC I believe, but I never personally listened to them before, but after this festival they were added to my Spotify playlist! Easy Honey opened for the first day of High Water Festival and they brought that energy we all needed for that hot day. Easy Honey is an indie-rock band and they were very engaging with the crowd during their set. You can tell they were exited to be at this festival because each member had smiles on their faces the whole time. This is what we love to see. Musicians living their best life and opening up the day for a huge festival that brings everyone together. Open

Opening the second day of High Water Festival was Goldie Boutilier and I left that photo pit speechless. Goldie reminds me of Blondie which gave me nostalgic vibes the whole time and she was so engaging. I believe she was the most dynamic and energetic artist of the whole festival. Goldie would dance on the stage and interacted with the guitarist a lot during their set which made taking photos so much fun! Goldie even had a gold scarf with her name on it which shined during their set which showed me that the day will shine bright. After their set; I could not stop talking about them. I even called my business partner to talk about Goldie’s set and that women are truly a powerhouse in this industry.

The headliner for the first night was Lord Huron which we all know his famous single “The Night We Met” from the tv series 13 Reasons Why which is honestly one of my favorite shows and I didn’t know it was Lord Huron who sung that song. Besides that song; I didn’t know any other songs being performed, but the crowd at the barricade was teary eyed the whole time. Lord Huron radiates serenity, tranquility, and hope with the lyrics he sings and his stage presence honestly calms your soul a bit. Being able to see Lord Huron finally made me realize that I need to diverse myself more into different genres of music because at this festival especially during his set; I could see how music truly impacts attendees. I go to metal shows and people are too busy crowd surfing and moshing, so being able to take in a different genre showed me a different side of how music can change peoples lives.

The headliner for the last day was Arcade Fire and I was not prepared for how theatrical this band was and the dedication on the stage presence. I never listened to Arcade Fire before, but they did leave a mark on my brain with how dynamic and versatile each musician is in this band because each member would change spots during the set to perform different instruments. The stage was so high, so it was hard for me to get photos of the other musicians, but that made me enjoy their set even more because I was focused more on their stage presence which blew me away. During their performance; you could see everyone singing along and I swear I’ve never seen so many tears before during a set before. Seeing so many attendees taking in their performance and showing how their music impacted them had me emotional myself because I love seeing people having the time of their lives. You never know what someone is going through, so music could be their only escape.
