On May 9th, 2025- CHIEFLAND released their newest single “Lie To Me” which reminds us of the elder emo music in the early 2000’s, but with a modern touch to it. The second the song started it already gave us that emotional turmoil within ourselves with the vocals filled with sadness causing a melancholic sound that makes the listener understand the deep emotional reality of the lyrics. This single is mournful almost like losing yourself as an individual and wondering what you can do to get out of this toxic situation, but love has that chokehold on you. “Lie To Me” gives me AFI vibes with the haunting and cinematic vocals with the instruments not being overbearing, so the listener can fully understand the lyrics to the full extent.

“Lie to me” is the name of the new track by the band, whose members are scattered across the cities of Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig and Göttingen. CHIEFLAND deliver their usual intense and atmospheric emo-rock, but this song in particular is harder, rougher and catchier.

Thematically, it deals with the painful endless loop of falling in love with someone who never really shared the same intentions. However, the actual intentions remain masked – a web of deceptions and lies develops. The catchy refrain “Lie to me and make me run in circles everyday” sums it up perfectly.
