Founded in 2012 with humble beginnings in Cullman’s Heritage Park, Rock The South has evolved into a massive cultural event, drawing more than 100,000 fans over a single weekend. Now held at York Farms (1872 Country Road 469), the 140-acre site includes on-site camping, RV parking, and improved amenities aimed at enhancing the fan experience after early growing pains.
“This festival is more than just a weekend of music—it’s a celebration of community, tradition, and the values that define Cullman,” said organizer Shane Quick in a recent press release.
Despite rain-soaked conditions in 2024, enthusiasm remained high with fans braving the mud for performances by Jelly Roll, Eric Church, Park McCollum, and Oliver Anthony. That resilience reflects the festival’s dedicated fanbase and the hometown pride that fuels it year after year.
In recent years, Rock The South has leaned into themed days, from “Party in the USA” to “Duck Calls and Overalls,” making it as much a fashion show as a concert. Expect plenty of patriotic flair, camo, denim, and slogans backing both American pride and traditional values.
And it’s not all about the music—Rock the South has raised over $600,000 for local charities, benefitting organizations like Children’s of Alabama and The Link of Cullman County.
