Soccer Mommy, the moniker of Nashville-based singer-songwriter Sophie Allison, is returning to her roots with the announcement of Evergreen (Stripped), a new EP featuring acoustic renditions of tracks from her acclaimed 2024 album Evergreen. The EP is set for release on June 6 via Loma Vista Recordings. Alongside this announcement, Allison has shared a previously unreleased track, “She Is (Stripped),” offering fans a glimpse into the raw, unfiltered emotion that characterizes her latest work.
Revisiting the Raw: Evergreen (Stripped)
Evergreen (Stripped) comprises six tracks, including acoustic versions of “Abigail,” “Driver,” “Some Sunny Day,” “Thinking of You,” and “M,” alongside the new addition “She Is.” This EP serves as a companion piece to Evergreen, which was lauded for its introspective lyricism and organic production. By stripping back the arrangements, Allison aims to highlight the vulnerability and honesty at the core of her songwriting.
In a statement, Allison explained her motivation: “This song didn’t make the cut for Evergreen, but it was always really special to me. I think the stripped version does it justice while staying close to the demo.”
Introducing “She Is (Stripped)”
The newly released “She Is (Stripped)” stands out as the only track on the EP not previously featured on Evergreen. The song’s minimalist arrangement, centered around acoustic guitar and Allison’s emotive vocals, creates an intimate atmosphere that underscores the song’s themes of love, loss, and self-discovery.
Fall 2025 North American Tour
In support of the upcoming EP, Soccer Mommy has announced a fall 2025 North American tour, marking the second leg of her Evergreen tour. The tour will feature performances in various cities, including a notable show at New York City’s Central Park SummerStage on September 16.
