On April 25, 2025– Metalcore band Destroy // Create from Rochester, NY released their newest single “D.O.M.” that truly proved how much this band can be versatile with their sound and that it’s okay to push those boundaries to create a powerful single. “D.O.M.” caught my attention rather quickly as I watched the official video; the vocals shift back and forth between heavier and cleans which could indicate the internal struggle of fighting within yourself trying to figure out if you should give in to those negative thoughts or hold on a little longer to grasp onto those positive ones. We sometimes as humans tend to get stuck in a gray area between right and wrong and this single brings that feeling to life. Do we listen to the shadowy part of ourselves or do we continue to fight to find the light?

“D.O.M.” invites listeners to embrace themselves and understand that they are not the only one’s who struggle with feeling like the internal turmoil will never end. This single is powerful and relentless that brings the listener on a rollercoaster of emotions, but it also has an atmospheric soundscape that even during the darkest times, there will be that light that brings you back to the surface.

“This song is about having something negative inside of you, almost like a whole other personality, that is constantly winning the battle between your more positive side which leads to you questioning if the battle will ever end. To us, we feel that this song shows the years of hard work that we’ve put into honing our craft and blending each one of our musical influences to put out a song that we’re really proud of” – Adrian , D//C
