The Midwest is finally thawing, and the sun is out, so you know what that means… XLNC Fest in Bay City, Michigan! Let’s take a look into why this festival, tucked away in the nautical Bay County, will be your new favorite underground go-to.

Two-step to your heart’s desire at this hidden gem lowkey fest hosted by PNWK Records. Meet like-minded concertgoers who enjoy the same niche of a wide variety of alternative sub-genres ranging from twinkly Midwest emo to some good ole pit throwdown bangers.

Headlining this festival is the ever-so-talented Arm’s Length, and let me tell you, they are a band you do not want to miss. Known for songs like “Object Permanence” and “In Loving Memory,” Arm’s Length will be on tour for their emotional and pivotal sophomore album There’s a Whole World Out There until early 2026.

Also leading the bill of this fest is post-emo icons Ben Quad, who bring only the most expressive power vocals and rhythmic drops that have the entire crowd in beautiful moshing harmony.

This lineup is not without other honorable mentions, including some of my own personal favorites Pet Symmetry, Worst Party Ever, Michael Cera Palin, and many more bands that hit the agony button in all the right places for fellow emo enjoyers.
