Greg Antine (guitarist) came to a point in his career after playing in numerous bands throughout the years where he wanted to branch out and write songs that were inspired by personal life experiences. He then expressed his concept for Swim The Current to George Pond (bassist), who he had worked with for several years in past projects. George loved the idea, and they both set out with ideas in George’s home studio and quickly realized that they were on to something big and needed more help.
That’s when they had Joe Gareri (guitar/keys), and soon after, Chris Moore (drummer) join the band. The final piece was completed when Marcos Leal (vocalist) joined.
The group’s sound is influenced by such favorites like Deftones, Faith No More, POD, Sevendust, and Stabbing Westward.
Swim The Current is excited to announce the release of their latest single, “Storylines,” distributed by Virgin Music Group. The single was co-produced by George Pond and David Caplinger.
“The song defines everything Swim The Current is and the message we carry, a little bit of Texas country mixed with our heavy metal roots, and a FUCK YOU attitude that won’t lay down for anyone, get on board and enjoy the ride! It’s the echo in the tale you tried to bury, rising soft but sharp through the silence. A thorn in the story you spun in gold, blooming louder each time lied.” -Marcos Leal
