I Want My Loved Ones To Go With Me blends Americana, indie folk, and country influences. Noah’s voice goes from quiet and vulnerable to strong and emotional. Instruments like the banjo, pedal steel, mandolin, cello, and acoustic guitar support this transition. She worked closely with producers Mike Crossey and PJ Harding, co-producing the project with them. Featured collaborations include artists such as Blake Shelton, Fleet Foxes, Ella Langley, and Bill Callahan. Throughout the record, Noah reflects on growth, family, and finding peace through music.
A meaningful track on the album is “Don’t Put It All On Me.” It was originally written by Noah’s brother, Braison, and later became a collaboration with Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes. One of the most important musical figures in Noah’s life is her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. The album features a song called “With You,” which is the very first song he ever wrote. Additionally, the track “I Saw the Mountains” draws inspiration from her father and reflects on themes of nature and connection.
Family and nature play a big role in this album. This complements how Noah and Mike Crossey lean into country music this time around. They only brushed the surface of the genre on her album The Hardest Part. Now they’re fully immersed in it. Noah knows who she is now and she hopes the music helps others figure that out, too.
To celebrate, Noah will perform a special album release show at The Ford in Los Angeles on July 11, followed by a North American headline tour this fall.
