Canadian alt-pop artist Alex Porat is back and baring her heart with the release of her new EP crushed!, a sparkling, emotional roller coaster of love, heartbreak, and everything in between. Featuring six shimmering tracks and led by the infectious new single “Kissing You,” the EP arrives today on all streaming platforms, accompanied by a dreamy new music video.
The project is, in Porat’s words, “a peek inside of my insane brain when I came down with a terrible case of having a crush.” She adds, “This one took over me like no other, and in true girlhood fashion, I am here to tell anyone who’s willing to listen about it.”
Full of lyrical wit and melodic charm, crushed! opens with “Face Like Yours,” a biting anthem about a gorgeous red flag that sets the tone for the EP’s blend of humor and heartache: “What a waste of a face like yours / What a shame you were nothing more.” From there, the project flows through the dizzying highs and gut-wrenching lows of crush culture.
“Kissing You” stands out as the centerpiece of the release – a kaleidoscopic rush of sound and feeling, underscored by Porat’s signature soft-yet-powerful vocal delivery. The accompanying video bathes Porat and her friends in crushed velvet and disco light, solidifying her as the rising main pop girlie she was born to be.

Following major tour support slots for RALPH, Tiffany Day, Hojean, and Eric Nam, Alex Porat will embark on her own North American headlining tour this fall. The “crushed! tour” kicks off October 8 in Toronto and hits major Canadian cities including Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary.
