Signs Of The Swarm releases a fierce and brutal single “Scars Upon Scars”

On June 25, 2025, Signs of The Swarm released their newest single “Scars Upon Scars” alongside the official music video that expresses the inner turmoil of struggling with addiction and not feeling satisfied even when you decide to give in to those temptations. “Scars Upon Scars” official video is inside of a house and it could be a metaphor, in my opinion, because inside of a home could be your sanctuary, or it could be a battlefield which is similar to what this single is about with addiction. Addiction also makes you feel euphoric as well as it makes you realize that you are dependent on a drug that causes complete chaos within yourself. Simonich’s vocal delivery on this single captures the true imagery of what addiction can cause to a person and that it’s always in the back of your mind.

“‘Scars Upon Scars’ is about my struggles with addiction, I tried to make it accessible for anyone who is dealing with addiction: showcasing the depriving lows of withdrawal and highlighting the hunger that is never satiated. I hope someone can take this piece I’ve given of myself and feel less alone. With such direct lyrics, I approached my vocals with influences from hardcore bands I like, such as Jesus Piece, Backtrack and Desolated.”David Simonich
