Colorado’s own melodic punk juggernaut Record Thieves have dropped a gripping new single, “Cause and Effect,” the first release from their upcoming album Tragic Company, due out this fall via Thousand Island Records. Rising from Denver’s tight-knit punk scene, Record Thieves formed from members of Authority Zero, Boldtype, and Allout Hetler. Their 2020 debut Wasting Time set the tone with a blend of melodic hooks, emotional punch, and eager vitality. Since then, the band – Jim Wilcox (drums), Mike Waterhouse (vocals), Allen White (guitar), Chad Gilbert (bass), and newest addition Erik Livesay (guitar) – has earned a loyal following through raucous live sets and honest songwriting.

“Cause and Effect” continues that trajectory, delivering sharpened riffs and anthemic vocals that call to mind acts like The Menzingers, Hot Water Music, and No Use for a Name.
