Princess Nokia shares euphoric new single “Drop Dead Gorgeous” via artist house – new album coming soon!

Nuyorican rapper, vocalist, and cultural force Princess Nokia returns with the fierce and flamboyant new single “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” out today via Artist House. Paired with a bold music video directed by Sebastian Cabrera Chelin, the track offers the first glimpse into Princess Nokia’s highly anticipated next album.

A glittering and rebellious ode to feminine freedom, “Drop Dead Gorgeous” pulses with retro synths, satirical swagger, and irreverent charm. Princess Nokia describes it as “a salacious summer anthem that’s all about de-centering men and causing trouble with your girls.” In her words, the track “creates a fantasy landscape where girls are lawless, summer is force, and Halloween is around the corner.”

The single encapsulates her ongoing mission to reclaim girlhood on her own terms – a theme that runs through the world of her upcoming album. “It’s a second chance at girlhood,” she says. “An endless sleepover, a summer playlist, a soundtrack to your best friends.”

The accompanying video is just as vivid: a heat-soaked car wash scene with Princess Nokia smoking weed, dancing with friends, and metaphorically devouring the patriarchy – literally eating men’s hearts. “We can do what we want, get a gun kind of summer,” she raps with biting coolness. “Girlhood, girls bleed, mean girl, girl fun… free the girl, let’s hope they all get divorced.”

Best known for her genre-defying breakout 1992 Deluxe, Princess Nokia – born Destiny Frasqueri – has become one of music’s most dynamic voices. With follow-ups like Everything Sucks and Everything Is Beautiful, and her more pop-forward EP i love you but this is goodbye, she’s never stopped evolving. Now, she signals a new era – one rooted in celebration, autonomy, and radical softness.

With more music on the way, “Drop Dead Gorgeous” is just the beginning of an audacious new chapter for Princess Nokia.
