Awake The Dreamer released their newest single “Save You” alongside an official music video that encapsulates the meaning on being stuck in the turmoil of losing yourself because of someone else that only wants to keep you in their toxic grasp. The official music video for “Save You” shows many water scenes, which metaphorically indicate a spiritual rebirth as well as instability and chaos, which is what the single is expressing. “Save You,” like I stated before, is about the inner chaos within yourself that wants to understand why someone would want to control you. But at the same time, as the song progresses, you can sense the switch when the person finally realizes that they were blinded the whole time and it’s time to take back their life.
I’ve always said the best bands come from Sweden, and Awake The Dream is one of those bands. “Save You” is a cinematic masterpiece that has an addicting soundscape created by the instrumentation and the two different vocals, which enhance the chaos and guilt that happen when you allow a toxic person to control you. The orchestral violin solo in the single elevates the raw emotional resonance and gives me vibes of the band Imminence. “Save You” is very dynamic and versatile when it comes to the vocals because, between both vocals, you can sense pain, anger, and relief, all with an ambient tone that keeps the listener intrigued the whole time.
