The Acacia Strain declare war on comfort with new album ‘You Are Safe From God Here’ out October 24

Brace for impact. Massachusetts deathcore legends The Acacia Strain have returned with a vengeance, announcing their next full-length album, You Are Safe From God Here, due out October 24 via Rise Records. Alongside the announcement, the band dropped a crushing new single and video for A Call Beyond,” a relentless opening salvo for what promises to be one of the most feral releases of the year.

“This record is unapologetically The Acacia Strain; take that however you want,” the band states. “It’s angry. It’s sad. It’s us.”

Where 2023’s dual LPs Step Into The Light and Failure Will Follow showcased the band’s ability to toggle between blistering hardcore violence and glacial, sludgy doom, You Are Safe From God Here folds both halves of the TAS identity into one monstrous, molten mass. It’s bleak and it’s beautifully terrifying.

The band consisting of Vincent Bennett (vocals), Devin Shidaker (lead guitar), Griffin Landa (bass), Mike Mulholland (guitar),and Matt Guglielmo (drums), poured themselves into every facet of this project. The video for “A Call Beyond” throws fans into a twisted game show from hell, conceived by the band themselves and starring friends from across their inner circle. It’s weird, wild, and deeply TAS.

“We all have about 1,000 ideas for music videos,” they shared. “We basically picked this one out of a hat.”

Musically, “A Call Beyond” is a haymaker of groove drenched riffage, smothered in venom and spite, with Bennett’s signature growl dragging the listener straight into the pit of existential dread. It’s the sound of a band evolving, sharpening their teeth and their songwriting in equal measure.

As ever, The Acacia Strain holds nothing back. Themes of misanthropy, spiritual decay, and existential collapse course through the album’s tracklist like a virus. And with features from Brody KingColin Young, and Sunny Faris, this record revels in its weaponization of the darkness.
