In 1609, an English explorer sailed up a river so vast and long – this man was named Henry Hudson. After years of change, construction, and contamination, that same river he sailed up is now known as the Hudson River.
Today, millions of people live along the bank of the river and, like it, have stood the test of time.
“It’s a musical theater design, and it rarely happens in pop. You can picture two individuals in an apartment overlooking the Hudson singing about the same thing.“
-FINNEAS
On September 19, The Favors – featuring singer-songwriters FINNEAS and Ashe – will be releasing their debut album, The Dream, to everyone everywhere. The two draw deep inspiration from the golden era of the Laurel Canyon, and create equally appropriate music for a smoky bar setting from 1977. They will also eerily remind you of the good old sound of Simon & Garfunkel and Fleetwood Mac.
If you have a record player, and if The Favors decide to come out with a vinyl record… Then, just imagine the way you will feel listening to songs like “The Hudson” on your record player with the view of a river running alongside you.
“This is the way every artist dreams of making an album, people don’t sing together anymore when they’re recording. But it was so romantic and fun.“
-Ashe
