ALINA, the nineteen-year-old singer-songwriter, just released a new single: “look bad” via Columbia Records. The track talks about a relationship going wrong, with bitterness, anger, and a bit of pitilessness — everything we want for a crash-out session screaming-crying lyrics.
ALINA shared that this song is, in her own words, “kind of a diss track.” It was also her first time writing out of spite, and she absolutely loved it. The song blends bitterness and lightness in a way only someone who’s cried and then found the humor in it could achieve. “It ended up being really evil” she quips — and fun.

The singer also released an animated lyric video inspired by the artwork that ALINA herself handmade, which brings a whole new artistic dimension to the song. You can watch it HERE.
ALINA has been gaining huge visibility on social media recently, especially on TikTok, where her songs “get a grip” and “I Know, I Know, I Know” really blew up, together amassing nearly 10 million streams and sparking a huge wave of TikTok fan edits.

I think a big part of why so many people are drawn to her art and her way of storytelling is the fact that her songs are so relatable, especially for other teenagers or young people. She shared, “Being a 19-year-old girl, a gigantic part of that is having every single emotion going on, at one hundred percent, all the time” she says. “Of course one day I’m going to write a mean rock song, and the next day I’m going to write a depressing ballad. What do you expect?”
With “look bad,” ALINA proves once again she can turn diary pages and emotional messes into pop anthems — and she’s only getting louder.
“look bad” is available now on all streaming platforms.
