Jackson Stell, the mastermind behind the EDM act Big Wild, is set to release his newest album, Wild Child, on August 29 via Giant Music. Stell’s newest album delves into his most dynamic and personal project to date, bringing a desire to reconnect with the curiosity and joy that initially drew him to music.
In his 2022 release, The Efferusphere, Big Wild felt like he took the creative process too seriously, which would dull his spark. Wild Child leads him into his own “inner child,” symbolizing an experimental, high-energy sonic journey that is playful, fearless, yet emotionally resonant.
Big Wild recently released one of the funky and reflective Wild Child tracks, “Too Loud,” featuring Phantogram.
Stell describes this track as “sexy and ethereal,” vocally enhanced by Phantogram’s Sarah Barthel. Her addition to the track adds the final touch that completes the sonic landscape.
“This song makes me want to roll the windows down and turn the volume all the way up. Working with Jackson has been such a blast, and we can’t wait to dance with you to this soon.” -Sarah Barthel (Phantogram)
Wild Child marks a significant new chapter for Big Wild, as it explores the uninhibited spirit of rediscovering the wonders of both music and life. This chapter trades electronic foundations for a richer, more organic palette of indie-pop and psychedelic rock.
In this chapter, Stell has crafted his most dynamic and personal project yet with a reconnection of his own curiosity and joy that first inspired his musical journey.
Fans can now experience this renewed energy live during his “Wild Child Tour” in North America this Fall. Tickets can be purchased here.
