George Lewis Jr., known as Twin Shadow, is a Dominican-born American musician, director, producer, and actor. Since his 2010 debut, Twin Shadow has released six studio albums featuring dynamic programming and warped synthesizers. His seventh album, CADET, arrives later this year.
Ahead of the new album, he released “Dominoes,” which will be included on CADET later this year. This newest single follows his intimate 2025 release, “Georgie”—a song dedicated to his late father that explores grief and memory through dreamy, stripped-back instrumentation.
“‘Dominoes‘ is a reflection on vulnerability, distance, and devotion. The chorus sings: If my heart is an ocean / it’s totally blue = I’m all in.” -Twin Shadow
“Dominoes” was produced by Twin Shadow and Blackpaw, featuring dynamic drum programming and an urgent, intimate feel. Being the lead single from his upcoming album, it marks a return to punchy drum machines and elements of his earlier work, following his previous stripped-back album.
The upcoming album, set for release later this year via Dom Recs, marks a shift from the previous release. It finds Twin Shadow returning to punchy drumbeats and warping synthesizers.
“Dominoes” comes alive with dynamic drum programs, adding urgency and texture to Twin Shadow’s performances. You can hear the fun Twin Shadow and Blackpaw had making this track, as they capture hope.
You can listen to the newest track on all streaming platforms today.
