On Wednesday, July 30, Grammy-nominated artist Bryson Tiller announced the release of The Vices, which is half of his upcoming double album, Solace & The Vices. The first half of the album was released on August 8 via Trapsoul/RCA Records. Produced by talent including Charlie Heat, Teddy Walton, Hitmaka, and Gravez, this project marks a new chapter in Tiller’s ever-changing sound.
The first installment of this album, The Vices, showcases Tiller’s high-energy side. Diving deeper into his rap roots, this album blends sharp bars with melodic instinct to offer an unapologetic and confident look into the artist at work. The direction of his sound promises to make The Vices one of his boldest and most creative projects yet. Solace, which is due to release later this year, promises to lean on impulse and raw energy and will take on an introspective approach. Described by Tiller as “my own personal therapy session,” Solace will focus on growth, emotional clarity, and reflection.
Bryson Tiller is from Louisville, Kentucky, and rose to fame with his breakout diamond-certified hit “Don’t,” which led to his three-time platinum-certified debut album (2015). His success continued with True to Self (2017), which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and A N N I V E R S A R Y (2020), which debuted at No. 5. His self-titled album, released last year, was also in the Billboard 200’s Top 20 and was led by the single “What She Wants.” In recent history, Tiller collaborated with Chris Brown on new track “It Depends.” Tiller is currently a special guest on the “Breezy Bowl XX Stadium Tour,” which will stop in major U.S cities and runs through September. Summer Walker will also be a guest on select dates as these artists take on iconic venues like Fenway Park and Wriggley Field.
Tiller is now gearing up to put out new music to celebrate the lead-up to the 10th anniversary of his debut album, T R A P S O U L, in October. Launching into superstardom, Tiller changed the R&B landscape with that album and set the stage for the dynamic artist he’d become.
