Mella shares new single “E-Girls Are Delicious,” announces upcoming album and tour with A Lot Like Birds

Alt-progressive post hardcore outfit Mella are carving out their own lane with the release of “E-Girls Are Delicious,” the latest single from their forthcoming album Or So I’ve Been Told… which arrives October 10 via Kill Iconic and Equal Vision Records. Produced by Mike Watts (The Dear Hunter, Hail the Sun), the record promises to showcase both the raw emotion and refined detail that define the band’s sound.

E-Girls Are Delicious” balances sharp, guitar driven passages with moody, keyboard-laden stretches. The song explores feelings of shame and self-awareness with a tone that is both sarcastic and sobering. Lyrically, it moves between fleeting justification and the lingering sting of regret, creating a piece that is as unsettling as it is cathartic.

Formed by Danny Ray McCool Jr. (vocals), James Lucas Artwohl (bass, keys), Donnie Maynard Clark (guitar, recording engineer), and Luke Martucci (drums), Mella leans into influences that span the scene. Their music nods to the melodic intensity of Pierce the Veil while also weaving in the technical intricacies and math rock flavor of groups like Polyphia. The result is a sound that feels both familiar and forward thinking, grounded in post hardcore history yet pushing into progressive territory.
